Competition based on scientific selection process / Award ceremony with Ranga Yogeshwar in June

Regensburg, Sinzing – Excellence in innovation: B-Horizon’s performance as a leading technology developer has convinced in the 30th round of the TOP 100 competition, and thus was awarded with the TOP 100 seal 2023 – for the second time after 2022. This award is being granted only to SME’s with a particularly high level of innovation. In June, B-Horizon CEO Mohammad Kabany shall be personally acknowledged by the mentor of the competition, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar.
Centerpiece of the innovation contest TOP 100 is a scientific selection process that all participants must pass. On behalf of the organizer compamedia, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team analyzed more than 100 indicators for innovation from 5 categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, outside orientation / open innovation, and innovation success. B-Horizon’s services comprise the development of semiconductors and sensor systems, as well as quality management for microelectronics. The company has gained reputation especially as supplier in the automotive industry. Together with technologically leading partners, they develop new processors and sensors, in order to create for instance the prerequisites for the next levels of automated driving. In the state-of-the-art headquarters in Sinzing near Regensburg, B-Horizon has their own development labs. With the international presentation of the multi-patented intelligent sensor system B-Neo, the company expanded into the growth market of smart-living concepts. Recently, the B-Neo Gaming Glove was presented on the GITEX Global in Dubai, and the B-Neo Car Seat on the electronica 2022 in Munich.
The company’s foundation is the high competence and profound experience of their employees. CEO Mohammad Kabany: “Our smart sensor system B-Neo is progressing rapidly, which was testified by the presentation of new products on international trade fairs in 2022. Currently, we are working within a cooperation on the application of intelligent sensors in the health and care sector.”
To give equal opportunities for all contestants, the seal is awarded in 3 categories of company size. There were 550 SME’s participating in the competition, 300 of which were successful and belong to this year’s TOP 100 (100 per size category).
„TOP 100 is about the question, which is the significance of the innovation target within a company”, says Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, the scientific head of the contest. “Do routines and habits dominate, or is the company able to question established things, to think in a creative and new way, and implement innovation successfully at the market? We analyze these abilities based on more than 100 checkpoints”, he elaborates.
On June 23rd will be another occasion to celebrate, when the Top Innovators of 2023 get together in Augsburg on the German SME Summit for the award ceremony, to receive the compliments of Ranga Yogeshwar.
TOP100: the Contest:
Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the TOP 100 Seal for outstanding innovation power and superior innovation success to small and medium enterprises (SME’s). Since 2002, the scientific lead is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, who is founder and board member of the institute for entrepreneurship and innovation of the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. With 25 research awards and over 200 publications, he belongs internationally to the leading innovation researchers. Mentor of TOP 100 is the science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar.
