Sinzing – Excellence in innovation: The B-Horizon GmbH has convinced in the 29th round of the TOP 100 competition as leading technology developer, and thus was awarded with the TOP 100 Seal 2022. This award is reserved for SME’s with a particularly high-level of innovation. On June 24th, B-Horizon CEO Mohammad Kabany shall be personally acknowledged by the mentor of the competition, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar.
Centerpiece of the innovation contest TOP 100 is a scientific selection process that all participants must pass. On behalf of the organizer compamedia, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team analyzed more than 100 indicators for innovation from 5 categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, outside orientation / open innovation, and innovation success. Particular weight is put on the question, if and how novelties and product improvements are succeeding in the market. (Further information on the criteria under www.top100.de/pruefkriterien).
B-Horizon’s services comprise the development of semiconductors and sensor systems, as well as quality management for microelectronics. The company has gained reputation especially as supplier in the automotive industry. Together with technologically leading partners, they develop new processors and sensors, in order to create for instance the prerequisites for the next levels of automated driving.
The new headquarters in Sinzing near Regensburg, with own development labs, were inaugurated in 2020. With the international presentation of the multi-patented smart sensor system B-Neo in 2021, B-Horizon expanded into the growth market of smart living concepts. The company capitalizes on the high competence and profound experience of their employees. CEO Mohammad Kabany: “Our passion for the development of innovative technologies and the constant practice of customer orientation are key factors of our success.”
To give equal opportunities for all contestants, the seal is awarded in 3 categories of company size. There were 436 SME’s participating in the competition; 294 of which were successful and belong to this year’s TOP 100 (max. 100 per size category).
„To which extent does a company focus on innovation? How consequently is that goal pursued by their structures? At TOP 100, we analyze this”, elaborated Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, the scientific head of TOP 100. “The most innovative SME’s receive the seal. It shows that they are outstandingly prepared for future challenges.”
The First Mayor of the Sinzing municipality, Patrick Grossmann, took the opportunity to congratulate B-Horizon CEO Mohammad Kabany personally. “We are proud to have successful high-tech companies in our municipality, whose innovations and technologies are internationally significant”, Grossmann said.
On June 24th, there will be another occasion to celebrate: when the Top Innovators of 2022 get together in Frankfurt/Main on the German SME Summit for the award ceremony, and to receive the compliments of Ranga Yogeshwar. The science journalist has been attending the innovation contest for 11 years as mentor.
TOP 100: the Content
Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the TOP 100 Seal for outstanding innovation power and superior innovation success to small and medium enterprises (SME’s). Since 2002, the scientific lead is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, who is founder and board member of the institute for entrepreneurship and innovation of the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. With 25 research awards and over 200 publications, he belongs internationally to the leading innovation researchers. Mentor of TOP 100 is the science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar.
